How to merge CBZ chapters into one volume

Updated 2026-11-02

Reading 40 separate chapter files on an e-reader is tedious: you lose your place, and the library fills with clutter. Merging them gives you one volume that reads straight through.

Merge in the right order

File managers sort “Chapter 10” before “Chapter 2”. Manga to Kindle reads the numbers instead: volumes, chapters, half chapters like 10.5, and extras, so the order is right.

Steps

  1. Select all the chapter files (or the folder) on Manga to Kindle.
  2. Give the book a title, or let it be taken from the file names.
  3. Pick CBZ to keep a comic file for any reader app, or PDF/EPUB for an e-reader.

Each chapter becomes an entry in the table of contents, so you can still jump around.

How many chapters?

Free handles up to 60 files and 200 MB per book, usually one or two volumes. Pro handles 1,500 files and 2 GB, enough for a whole series in one go.
